What are three things you learned about color theory and web design yesterday? Go in to detail.

One thing I learned was the background should be opposite colors from the text or else it will blend together. You also want to have colors that complement each other and look good together. For example Hollister used navy and white, but the text was a dark red so it stood out and looked good but didn't blend with the navy. Another example was the Kansas City Star. It used teal and white.

What effect can a color scheme have on a website? How can it make a website better? How can it make a website worse? Explain why color is important.

A color scheme can make a website more organized and appealing to the viewer. It makes it look like everything has a purpose and is not all random. It could make it worse if you don't use enough colors, or if you use too many. Color is appealing- it makes the website more interesting.

What did you learn about file types as you created and designed your travel website? What are some other kinds of file types you know of? What do these different files do? Explain.

The file type that we created on the travel travel website was Photoshop to PNG. It was new to us because we haven't used it in the past until this website. Some other types of files I know of include InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft files which can be saved as JPEGs and PDFs.

What was your takeaway from this Travel Site? What did you learn that you didn't know before? How will the knowledge of how we built this site help you improve your future websites?

My take away from the travel site is that I learned how to build a website that includes roll overs and moving images. I also learned how to add pictures on the page without using a table. I didn't know how to do this before. I can use this information on future websites to include effects on my page, other than basic fundamentals.

How can Photoshop be a valuable tool in web design? Explain.

Photoshop can be a valuable tool in web design because you can use it to create different effects to pictures and texts. It can be used as a tool to edit pictures or objects before it is placed onto your website to ensure that the photos being displayed are to their best potential.

What do you know about Photoshop? Have you used it before? What can it do? Are you an expert? A newbie? Tell me about your background and what you already know.

I am sort of familiar with Photoshop, but not an expert. I know that the photographers in newspaper use it often to COB and edit the photos we put in the paper. I know that there are many different tools on the program that can be used to edit pictures or create new backgrounds for the pictures.

Think about how a user (me or anyone else using your site) might function and interact with your site. What are some important functional features to make your website easy to work with? How can you make it easier for the user and not frustrating? Explain why this is so important.

It is important that my site is easy to navigate around so that it is easy to use for almost everyone. Clear access to links and distinct pages are important because people need to know how the website is set up, even if they are not the creator (me).

Tell me about your Sweetheart weekend. If you didn't go to Sweetheart, what did you do? I want details!

I didn't go to Sweetheart because of soccer, but I hung out with some of my friends who didn't go to Sweetheart as well. We all bought a lot of snacks and watched movies. It was fun, but different to miss out on getting dressed up and taking cute pictures. It was still a lot of fun to look at the pictures of my friends who did go to the dance.
